Light botrytis character on the nose, quite a bit of Riesling in the blend? Lovely ripe fruit, quite spicy and lifted. Attractive texture, not too fat but plenty of depth and a hint of sweetness on the finish.
From a vineyard in the Bisamberg cru, within Vienna’s city limits. Blowsy, creamy fruit, quite big and rounded, but balanced and mineral with it. Some baked fruits on the nose. Fine, elegant finish. Has seen some oak but it’s subtly Read more
Lacks a bit of freshness on the nose, more herbal or even tea-like. But the palate has lemon zest, sharon fruit and also some herbal tinges. Bone dry and very salty on the finish. This is a very typical Wieninger Read more
Very stony, hint of pineapple fruit and very subtle citrus notes. Fantastic focus and drive here – quite broad, but tight and balanced, tending towards the mineral rather than the fruit. Perhaps a little short though – and quite hot Read more

Ripe stone fruits on the nose, very “come hither”. Peach, pear and some guava. Soft textured and easygoing, but hiding a lovely mineral streak that carries the finish. The alcohol is a little more evident on the finish than I’d Read more
Tight and focused, with a pretty note of passion fruit and kiwi. Very aromatic, lovely acidity and tight as a natt’s chuf with a bone dry finish. Makes a statement now, and should improve dramatically given another year or two Read more
Rich, opulent fruit with a characteristic balsamic tang, lots of character but the sweet finish seems a little unbalanced – and at the loss of some elegance and drinkability. Could be great with semi-sweet dishes though.
Hint of baked goods on the nose, quite broad fruit with dancing citrus acidity and a fine, slaty finish. Nervous and highly strung, despite the alcohol, really needs more time to flesh out a bit but great potential.
