Truly innovative ideas often seem so simple that you wonder why no-one thought of them before. There’s the rub: what seems so beautifully simple from the outside has to be perfectly conceived and executed to give you that impression.

When Chris and Anika Foster started dreaming of an online platform that would make it easier to purchase natural wines from different suppliers, I doubt they had any idea how life-changing it would be. MORE Natural Wine was a runaway success from its launch in 2019. But it also exposed the couple to an ugly side of the natural wine world, and almost brought them to breaking point.

Chris and Anika have never given an interview about MNW before, but they certainly made up for lost time. I pressed record and barely got a word in edge-ways for 90 minutes. Here’s their story, liberally sprinkled with their own words.
