If you missed last week’s piece, I wrote about my first trip to Serbia (not much more than a week ago) and how I came to visit a winemaker whose output I didn’t think I liked. Having one’s preconceptions challenged is always refreshing, and this was very much the case when I visited Oszkár Maurer.
Maurer’s importance to the Serbian natural wine community extends beyond his own production. He’s inspired and mentored many other budding winemakers, including two other well known names from Fruška Gora: Djorde Bikicki and Bojan Baša.
