From a lyra-trained parcel in Heiligenstein, this version of Bründlmayer’s top lage is similar to the “basic” Heiligenstein but with ever so slightly more ripe fruit on the palate. The acidity has the same tingling quality, but there ‘s a little more green apple or even pear on the mid-palate. There is less of the delicate minerals and salts here, though, making it – for me – the less interesting of Bründlmayer’s three Heiligensteins.
