Slight reduction and animal notes on the nose, but attractive fruit on the palate – red berries and baked plum. Very tannic, but there’s just about enough body here to support it – could do with some more time in bottle. The acidity is really nice here.
I tasted this blind and completely missed the high alcohol – a good sign, even if I’d rather drink Saperavi at a much lower ripeness level.
