Bloody and slightly feral on the nose (both of those things are positives in my book by the way!), with bright blackcurrant fruit and a subtle woodsmoke note. Very pure fruited and focused, with hints of crushed earth, mint and dried herbs. Juicy, with fine and ripe tannins, and an elegant balance which totally belies the ripeness level.

The Carignan (which was fermented in small amphorae) speaks loud and clear in this blend, with its wild berry and garrique herbal twang. And I think it adds all important freshness and energy to the blend too.
Wonderful stuff that is already broachable, but could also be cellared for five years or more.
