Over-ripe plum, caramel and raisins on the nose seem to indicate that there was a lot of wood involved in the upbringing of this wine.
I have to be honest, this is not what I think Zweigelt was put on this earth to deliver. Its joyful fruit has been obscured, replaced by a woody, tannic and unfocused palate which is not a whole lot of fun.
