I’m tempted to say that HN’s gruner from this same vineyard is the more successful wine. This Riesling certainly expresses all the crushed rocks and mineral salts quite nicely, but it misses something in terms of fruit.
There is so much salty energy to the wine that it threatens to unbalance the palate overall.
Certainly an exciting wine, but not as harmonious or balanced as the Steinberg Grüner.
