
In my opinion, harvesting Roter Veltliner at a high ripeness level and then heavily oaking the wine does not make for a pleasureable experience. Roter Veltliner’s exotisicm feels a bit blunted, and a slight sweetness on the finish is a little cloying.
What does impress about this wine is its acidity. But for me, this lacks balance or elegance.
