There are some years when Alvin’s old vines parcel in Heiligenstein can almost seem like too much of a good thing. But in 2020, the extra concentration and body is welcome, showing more profound fruit character and balancing the racy acids and minerals.
A beautiful, elegant wine but one that still feels a little more one-dimensional than in some years.
