Michael Kirchknopf’s star is definitely on the rise, and that’s not a surprise with wines like this. The fruit is wonderfully delineated, with ripe sliced pear and peach, but it has restraint and elegance too. The lees influence is subtle but well judged, allowing the wine to unfold into a long and luxuriant finish.
Michael excels in producing ripe styles like this, but where there is freshness and balance too. The oak influence is quite perceptible, but as always, well judged.
