From grapes in the Tsinandali sub-region, the nose has a dusty, iodine-like quality and some berry fruits. But the palate really overflows with berry compote – raspberry and blackcurrant. There are subtle notes of roasted herbs and sun-dried tomato. It’s expressive and very well balanced – with almost no clue as to the high alcohol.
Well structured too. The late harvest style wouldn’t be my go-to choice, but this is nicely done.
