
Made in a fairly heavily oaked style, the high energy of Blaufrankisch has been dampened a bit. In return, the texture is more opulent, with more creamy tannins. But there’s a rum ‘n’ raisin or schnapps hint which is slightly unwelcome.
A wine that I suspect may well be a crowd pleaser for its big, concentrated flavours and obvious oaking. Sadly, I’m not part of that crowd.
