Earthbound and rather heavy, with slightly bruised, spicy fruit and a hint of sweetness on the palate. The finish is quite long and complex, but there’s a lack of Riesling’s thrilling acids or mineral expression. Perhaps this clay-based vineyard isn’t the variety’s best location?
