Chunky and savoury, much more meaty and tanninc than Markus’s Jungenberg (on Schist soils, where this is limestone). The nose is gamey, with some violet notes, the fruit is acidic and angular in an entirely pleasing way. This needs time for everything to come together, but it’s a fascinating expression of the Leithaberg hills’ more structured side.
