The Blaufränkisch in this blend lends lively acidity to the proceedings, but right now the tannins and the oak feel rather prominent. Very ripe black cherry and plum fruit show themselves on the palate, but the wine doesn’t feel entirely harmonious.
This is a style that needs more time in bottle, and in my opinion, less extraction and less oak.
