Creamy on the nose, whitecurrant aromas and some fresh herbs, with smooth, refined tannins and electrifying acidity. Given the very long skin contact (51 days), this is still fairly simple and youthful at the moment. But it certainly has what it takes to age well. Quite savoury and a little marked by the wood at this stage.
Day 2 – more harmonious, with lovely crunchy acids.
