This is a great demonstration of the value of old vines. The concentration and depth of flavour here is impressive, with dried apricot, peach and a green pepper tinge. Despite considerable ripeness, the end result is dry, focused, salty and fresh.
Texturally there’s also plenty of interest, with some leesy fattness and some very subtle bitterness that freshens the palate.
A complex and hugely enjoyable wine.
