This is how I like my Sangiovese! It’s bloody as hell on the nose and the palate, with some funky, animal aromas, and then blood orange and tea leaf on the palate, before the juicy, vibrant fruit kicks in.
Quite tannic, but perfectly balanced and integrated into everything else that’s going on. A serious, unconstrained Sangiovese that shows just how characterful this grape variety can be, when it doesn’t have to compete with oak flavours and when the winemaking takes a step back to allow the grapes to do the talking.
