Rich and salty on the palate, the alcohol is beautifully handled, yes this is a big wine but the balance is wonderful – only a slight sensation of heat on the finish. The nose is a bit closed right now, some pear and quince notes. Lovely lifted acids keep things lively and fresh. Scared of this ripeness level but it is delicious.
