This feels seriously Sardinian – in that it’s super ripe, obviously from a hot climate. Acidity is in very short supply, but the fruit character is quite captivating – over ripe pear, wild herbs, quince. There’s even a hint of rambutan.
The tannins here are super important – that slight spikiness is the only thing that lifts the wine and provides freshness.
Overall, an interesting wine but probably not a second-glass wine.
