Blatina is a grape variety that I tend to think of as rather lightweight, but in this ripe example, there’s loads of concentration but still very charming blackcurrant and bilberry coulis. The nose suggests blackcurrant leaves, with an attractive floral note.
Slightly less hefty than its 2018 iteration, here there are quite assertive tannins that coat the mouth and freshen the palate.
There’s a purity to the fruit, and real feeling of freshness and expressiveness. Overall, this is an excellent, characterful and fruit-driven wine
