The nose of this wine is entrancing with super ripe cassis that reminds me of a hotter climate such as the Languedoc or Rousillon. There’s loads of fruit and concentration, but the wine is a bit brutally extracted and there are woody oak tannins that smother the finish. A bit of a bruiser, that could come round given about 110 years of bottle age. (barrel sample)
