Where Grassnitzberg in 2019 was fruit forward and joyful, in 2017 it seems more grassy and restrained. Of course, two years extra evolution has to be taken into account, but still this is less expressive or forthright.
The citrus peel notes and lifted aromatics do emerge gradually, and the freshness and focus of the wine is absolutely tip top.
An interesting style that may – dare I say it – hint that this wine actually does better when young.
