Thom Wachter has a way with BF. The texture and the fruit here feel so open and unconstrained. Ripe black cherry fruit predominates, with suggestions of game and sage that add interest and excitement. The aromas and the fruit have a wonderful wildness to them, and the tannins are assertive but nicely balanced. An exciting wine with great potential for the next 5+ years. (barrel sample)
