Charming, perfumed cassis fruit opens another superlative effort from Thom Wachter. His Saybritz is softer textured than the nearby Szapary Alteweingarten, still with firm tannins but ready to drink. The dark cherry fruit glides across the palate, finishing with an elderberry tinged compote. More simplistic and primary than Szapary or Fasching, but still excellent. (barrel sample)
