Spellbinding nose of pure cassis, so intense that it could be bottled as a perfume (which I’d happily wear). The palate has a similarly expressive fruit character, with wonderfully open and pure cranberry and red cherry, plus some savoury, herbal notes that sit in the rear and nod to the structure. The tannins are quite chunky, but they sit politely in the background and shore up this wonderful expression of the grape variety and the Eisenberg terroir. (barrel sample)
