Powerful, structured and barely ready, this is a big wine. Compared to its twin, Szapary, however, it is a little more resolved in terms of the tannins – and a little more generous with the fruit. Black cherry, cranberry and cassis notes dominate the palate, together with a roasted, twiggy character.
There’s a lot going on here, with many fascinating details that suggest mocha, citrus, dried herbs and stones. But I still have the feeling that this wine needs time. Keep it until 2023 – 2025 and then maybe we can talk more….
