Tightly structured with lovely acids, yet very meaty and even a little bretty on the nose. The fruit and the palate are precise and focused, with herb-tinged red berry fruit, but the nose lacks that precision. It’ll be interesting to see how this comes together in the bottle, but right now it’s not my favourite effort from Christoph. (barrel sample)
