Always my favourite of Wieninger’s Gemischter Satzen, this Ried Ulm is showing wonderful mineral expression, with a honeycomb like texture and a thrilling salty finish. As always, it’s concentrated and chalky, with baked fruits, honey and a delightful aromatic hint on the nose. The balance between its big boned, monolithic body and the lift and energy is peerless.
A great wine that will benefit from another year or two, to express even more.
